Standards

What Is EN 1634-1?

EN 1634-1 is the European test standard for fire resistance of door and shutter assemblies.

During testing, a full-size doorset is built into a test wall and exposed to a furnace.

Because the test covers the whole assembly, swapping a hinge can technically invalidate the rating.

Specification

EI30 vs EI60 vs EI90 vs EI120: Which Rating Do You Need?

The rating isn't a quality tier — it's set by the fire strategy of the building.

As a general pattern, always confirm against your project's fire strategy document.

The safest approach is to never guess: send us the fire strategy drawing.

Have a spec you need to match?

Send your fire rating and drawings — we'll confirm the exact doorset configuration.
